HELLER,LENGEL NAIL GNS FLAGS
(01/28/2010) Short track madness continued at Grill National Wednesday night as eight SCORE drivers convened for a USAC midget/dirt champ program. The notorious tri-oval took it's toll on some,but,overall,the competition was a gritty example of good,hard racing.
Chuck Heller surmounted a five-wreck performance by posting four segment wins to garner the USAC midget main laurels over Homer Hiester. Mike Lengel's new car blues ended as he took third in the event.
After recording his worst USAC dirt champ finish in memory two weeks ago at South Gate,Lengel rebounded to earn the checkered ahead of Hiester. The win put Lengel back into the divisional point lead. Riding to third in the 75 lapper was Dave Balloch.
