HIESTER BY A HAIR,HELLER ALMOST PERFECT AT PRRV

(12/17/09) As SCORE returned to the "big" track,it was no surprise to find Homer Hiester and Chuck Heller in victory lane. Though their efforts Wednesday night put another notch on their gun handles, the manner in which each driver earned wins in the USAC midget/dirt champ show at Pit Road Raceway V was much different.

Hiester had his hands full in the midget 50 lapper as Heller and Brion Hassler were there every inch of the way. Only after the final segment was the outcome decided as Heller erred twice to fall into second place via a tie-breaker. Two points behind Hiester, Hassler was third in the event that saw nine drivers take the flag.

Heller,on the other hand, won all five of his segments in the dirt champ race,a single wreck marred what, otherwise, would have been a perfect run. Hiester garnered second place five markers down while divisional king,Mike Lengel, was yet another four points in arrears. Rookie Lee Greenawalt was fourth in just his second SCORE feature.
