BALLOCH BITES "TURKEY",HELLER GLIDES TO SPRINT WIN
(11/19/09) While those around him collected miscues,Dave Balloch's steady hand prevailed as he captured the eighth annual USAC midget "Turkey Night 100" at Grill National Wednesday evening. Balloch earned his 90th SCORE victory by a three point margin over Chuck Heller while Mike Lengel,just another point behind,was third.
Heller had little trouble topping the USAC sprint field in the preliminary event as he finished eight markers ahead of Lengel and Kerry Breon,Jr. in the 50 lapper. Lengel took second by less wrecks in the tie-breaker. It was a disastrous night for Homer Hiester as a seventh place effort more than erased his 15 point lead in the division.
