HIESTER,HELLER RUSH TO VICTORY AT SEASON OPENERS
(October 8,2009) Despite all the racing over the summer at Pit Road V,opening night jitters were abundant as the 2009-10 SCORE campaign recorded its initial pair of events. Homer Hiester resumed where he left off at the end of last season by grabbing the USAC sprint laurels in the first feature. The Leesport native nailed the victory by a four point margin over Tim Musser,Sr. while Dave Balloch took third in a tie-breaker against Chuck Heller in the 50 lapper.
Heller rebounded in the closely fought USAC midget main to top Balloch and Kerry Breon,Sr. by just one marker. Balloch was scored as the runner-up via tie-breaker.
